Windsor city council has voted to accept an environmental assessment on a proposed pedestrian underpass.

As CTV News reported last week, council will discuss the possibility of a pedestrian underpass below Riverside Drive.

Monday night’s vote in no way endorsed the project, it merely makes it feasible should this council or future councils choose to move forward with the project.

Councillors Irek Kuzmeirczyk and Bill Marra voted against accepting the idea of a pedestrian underpass.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says he will bring something more concrete forward, as soon as he's able.
