Transit officials are asking patience from bus riders as operations at the downtown terminal move to a temporary work station at the north end of the lobby

The existing customer service is being renovated., with construction expected to take about eight weeks.

Director of operations, Pat Delmore, says the temporary work area will have limited space and may cause delays during peak sales period.

Delmore says usually customers rush to purchase bus passes during the last three days and first three days of each month. Additionally, there are times when large customer volume is seen for sporting events and concerts in downtown Detroit.

During such times, customers are reminded that those fares can be purchased in advance at several locations in the city.

There’s a list of locations on the city’s website.
