From livingrooms to bars, that opened at 7 a.m., Canadians watched the men’s hockey team defeat Sweden to win gold in Olympic men’s hockey Sunday.

In Windsor, restaurants such as the John Max sports bar on Dougall Avenue opened early.

About 35 people watched the game there and some stood to sing Oh Canada at the end.

Local bars and restaurants seemed to do well despite not being allowed to serve alcohol.

Others brought their own flags to the bar to celebrate and show their Canadian pride.

There were plenty of house parties across Windsor and Essex as well.

Steve Shilson had about 80 people at his house in Essex.

People included their children and even their pets in the parties.

In the game, Carey Price got the shutout victory in a solid 3-0 win over Sweden.

Canada went 6-0 in Sochi, allowing just three goals in those six games.

Jonathan Toews scored in the first, Sidney Crosby got an unassisted break-away goal in the second and Chris Kunitz scored in the third period.

Canada finishes these Games with 25 medals:10 gold, 10 silver, and five bronze.

Some fans were already looking ahead to the next Olympics.

"We won the gold and we are going to keep the gold and in four more years we are going to do it again. Whoo!"
