A Windsor immigration lawyer has been found guilty after counselling a potential immigrant to fabricate a refugee story.

Sandra Zaher was charged with fabricating evidence and counselling misrepresentation following an RCMP investigation in 2012.

Court heard an undercover officer posed as a person wanting to stay in canada.

While Zaher was found guilty Friday, her assistant, Diana al-Masakkhi was found not guility.

Sentencing has been tentatively set for Oct. 31.

The maximum penalty for fabricating evidence is 14 years in prison.
