A request for tender was issued today from the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority.

The authority is ready to construct a perimeter access road and relocate utilities.

“Over the past ten months, the WDBA Board of Directors has put in place a team of executives, professionals and advisors with the domain expertise required to enable us to launch today’s first construction tender,” says Mark McQueen, chairman of the WDBA board.

The work needs to be done to prepare for the inspection plaza on the Canadian side of the border.

The authority says this is the first key component in the procurement process for the Gordie Howe International Bridge.

The contract is expected to be awarded in August.
