About 1800 trade workers are getting ready to begin construction work to retool the Windsor Assembly Plant.
The workers are in a training session today as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles prepares to retool for the next generation minivan. Chrysler is investing $2 billion in the project.
Electricians will make up most jobs – about 500 to 600 - but they will be joined by plumbers, carpenters, ironworkers, millwrights and others.
The work is expected to start at 8 p.m. Friday night.
The plant is scheduled to be shut down until May 25.
