Students at Everest College were left in shock Thursday when the province announced the college would shut down immediately.
About 2400 students across the province are in limbo after the Ontario government announced the suspension the college's license.
To help the distressed students, St. Clair College is providing options for the future.
"What we tried to do is basically say is St. Clair is going to try and provide you with an option. We hope in a week's time things will be a little clearer for you in a ministry perspective," says St Clair Registrar Michael Silvaggi.
Both St Clair College and Everest students say not a lot of information is being disclosed to them from Everest, posing a challenge.
"What we told the students is in a week's time we will contact them. We did get their information from paper work that we offered them and we'll let me know where things stand from our perspective," says Silvaggi.
Jasmine Besand is one of those students affected by the closure.
She was just 40 hours away from graduating.
Today she was able to breathe a sign of relief.
"It feels like it's not so stressful as it was last week,"
Not all of the programs offered at Everest are offered at St. Clair.
The next step now is figuring out whether the interested students will be able to transfer their credits, so that they may be able to exchange their book bags for a cap and gown.
St Clair is hoping that in a week's time, Everest students will have more information given to them from Everest's administration.
