Chatham-Kent police have charged a Leamington teen after a fatal crash last year in Tilbury.
After a lengthy investigation, police arrested 19-year-old Johan Bergen Jr. on Wednesday. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and driving with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit causing death.
He was released with conditions pending a future court date of June 19.
Jake Fast, 18 and Frank Wiebe, 17, both from Leamington died in the collision at Coatsworth Road and Herman Line on Feb. 5, 2012.
Police say a car had left the roadway, crashed into a ditch and became engulfed in flames. An 18-year-old removed himself and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and later air lifted to the London Health Sciences Center for medical attention.
