The Fraser Institute's annual report card on Ontario secondary schools listed Kingsville District High School as the best ranking school in Windsor and Essex County.
The school placed 58th out of 725 schools with an overall score of 8.1. Last year’s ranking was 7.2.
Belle River District High School had the next best regional ranking at 7.9 and St. Anne Catholic High School earned a 7.8.
Walkerville Collegiate Institute and E.J. Lajeunesse are two of the top 20 fastest improving Ontario high schools.
Walkerville improved to a 7.3 from a 5.1 five years ago. Lajeunesse was at 6.5 in 2012, compared to 3.9 in 2008.
The highest-rated school was London Central Secondary School in London with a rating of 9.6 out of 10. Toronto's Cardinal Carter School for the Arts had a 9.5.
The study rates all public, private, and Catholic secondary schools in the province, based on seven academic indicators using data from literacy and math tests, otherwise known as EQAO testing.
