One of the men charged in connection with the 2013 stabbing death of a University of Windsor student has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.
Abdul Al-Bousaleh pleaded guilty to common assault in a Windsor court on Monday.
He was originally charged with aggravated assault following the October 2013 death of 19-year-old Gautham (Kevin) Kugathasan.
The melee that killed Kugathasan also left five others injured and led to charges against four men, including a charge of first-degree murder.
Lawyer Bob DiPietro says a second charge of possession of a dangerous weapon against Al-Bousaleh has been dropped.
Al-Bousaleh is expected to be sentenced on Oct. 30.
