The University of Windsor Graduate Student Society has voted in favour of a new $73-million Lancers sports and recreation complex.
The Graduate Student Society voted 457 to 290 in favour of the proposal. Last year, grad students voted 45.6 per cent no.
Two other student groups have voted in favour of letting last year’s referendum results stand.
Here's the breakdown of the previous results:
-UWSA voted 52.1 per cent yes
-Part-time students voted 50.7% yes
If the board approves the project, construction of the new sports complex would be done by 2020.
No student that voted in the referendum will be paying for the project, as fees will start once doors to the facility open.
