There were dozens of Canadian flags floating around downtown Windsor Friday.
A group with the Great Canadian Flag Project walked the streets of downtown drumming up support.
They're handing out mini Canadian flags with information about how people can donate to the cause.
The orgnization is working towards installing a 150-foot tall flag pole - with a 30 by 60 foot flag - at the base of Ouellette Avenue.
But, they still need to raise $60,000 to make it happen
Mike Beale is with the project and says, "The nice part about this flag, it's certainly a Canadian thing, but it also sends a message to our friends to the north, Detroit. A welcoming beacon, please come to Canada, this is where Canada begins in Windsor, Ontario."
