Chatham-Kent police responded to a crash on Tecumseh Line between Dauphin Road and Pump Road on Wednesday night that turned fatal.
Police say they were called to the scene around 8:45 p.m. and found an eastbound Lincoln had lost control.
The vehicle left the roadway, rolled and came to rest in a field.
The driver, a 74-year-old Chatham man, was transported to hospital without vital signs and was later pronounced dead despite medical efforts.
He has since been identified as Theodore (Ted) Wagenaar of Chatham.
The 49-year-old Chatham woman who was a passenger was transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact 519-355-1092.
