Friends, family and the community continue to mourn the loss of 18-year-old Marcus Pierce.
Pierce was fatally injured in Belle River during an altercation Thursday night.
A 17-year-old Lakeshore male has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
According to one of Marcus' family members, the family gathered Friday night, lit candles in his honour and said several prayers before holding a moment of silence.
Since Pierce’s death, more photos have been circulating on social media, including Pierce holding his young son.
The mother of Pierce's child, Kaila Arcand posted the photo and said her heart is broken.
“My heart is shattered, this just can't be true. Your legacy will continue through our son. I promise my love."
Arcand is asking if anyone has photos of Marcus to send them to her so she can put together a photo album to have for their son to show him how much he was truly loved by everyone.
Police say Pierce was found in a wooded area near Cooper Crescent and Lenore Street.
