A pat on the back for CTV Windsor’s Sacha Long.

Her work with Windsor Essex Crime Stoppers was recognized with the 2015 Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers award for best long video for a population over 300,000.

Windsor Essex beat out 37 other jurisdictions for the honour.

Constable Leigh Anne Godwin of Windsor Essex Crime Stoppers tells CTV News “we started this program in 2015 and to win the award the first year feels good.”

The video that was recognized focused on a story about a series of break and enters where a suspect stole cash and credits cards from vehicles to make purchases in variety stores.

Godwin says the stories that air on CTV Windsor are making a difference.

She notes almost half of the stories shared with CTV are solved.
