Convicted sex offender Carl Leone will have to wait one year before he can re-apply for day parole.
Leone was sentenced in 2008 to 18 years behind bars.
He pled guilty to 15 counts of sexual assault after infecting his partners with HIV between 1997 and 2004.
A spokesperson with the National Parole Board says Leone is eligible to apply for another type of parole, other than day parole, before September 2017.
Leone was granted unescorted absences from jail back in October. However, absences require a return to the jail after a period no longer than 72 hours.
Parole would allow Leone to stay in a community halfway house.
