The Windsor Spitfires swept the Soo Greyhounds in their back-to-back series over the weekend.

On Sunday, Windsor pocketed 10 goals, compared to Sault Ste. Marie’s six. The Greyhounds took an early lead in the first period, but Windsor’s Ryan Abraham tied it up before the first intermission.

In the second, the Spits had a productive period, as the teams bantered, ending the period with the Spits leading 5-2.

The third period was tense as the Greyhounds tried to make a comeback, to no avail. Cole Davis had back-to-back goals, securing a hat trick, following his first in the second period.

Jake Windbiel had a tremendous first career OHL game in net.

On Saturday, the Windsor blanked the Soo Greyhounds 4-0. The goals came from Cole Davis, Liam Greentree, Adrian Manzo and Carson Woodall.

The game marked goaltender Joey Costanzo’s third shutout of the season.

Windsor sits at 25-7-2-1 on the season. The team’s next game is Tuesday afternoon against the Flint Firebirds.
