A recent collision resulting in a car driving into a shed has led to charges in Chatham-Kent.

On Sunday morning just before 7 a.m., people inside a home on Donais Line heard a crash outside. They reported a car left the road, went through a fence and into a shed on the property.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said two of the three people inside the vehicle tried to leave but were stopped by the owner of the home.

Police spoke to the occupants, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old Blenheim man. He now faces charges for operation while impaired and dangerous operation.

Minor injuries were reported, and damages were more than $40,000.
