It's time to dust off the resume if you're looking for work, as a job fair to fill hundreds of positions will be held next week for the new Schlegel Villages long-term care community.

It’s a week before an event to fill 320 positions and construction at Schlegel Villages long-term care facility is ahead of schedule. According to site superintendent Bruno Lapico, crews are applying the finishing touches.

Work on the 256 bed facility has been progressing smoothly despite a challenging and long winter according to on site officials. Lapico says finishing touches on amenities like the general store, chapel and hair salon are still being finalized.

“We are getting a little ahead of schedule, which is good because you never know what kind of hiccups that come towards the end or client needs towards the end," he says.

Schlegel Villages general manager, Julie Roy says a job fair will be held next Wednesday and Thursday at the Fogolar Furlan Club between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

"So personal support workers, RNs, RPNs. We have many roles in dietary, housekeeping, laundry... lots of different areas," she says.

With construction slightly ahead of schedule inside, Lapico says they're still behind on outside activities.

Project completion is still set for late summer.
