Detroit's Cobo Center will remain home to the North American International Auto Show until at least 2025.
Cobo's general manager says Motown's regional convention center has entered into an eight-year contract with the autoshow.
Officials with NAIAS say the $279 million spent to renovate the centre has allowed the show to expand its footprint.
Before the renovations started in 2012, Detroit was at risk of losing the international show to another city.
It welcomes more than 800,000 visitors each year.
NAIAS is set to open its doors to the public in 2018 on Jan. 20.
