The Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program is seeking patients and family members to help identify gaps in cancer care.

The volunteers are needed for focus groups.

Organizers hope to determine what the program does well and what areas need improvement.

“The purpose is to help determine the strengths and weaknesses of cancer treatment delivery across the Erie St. Clair LHIN, and across the entire continuum of care,” says Claudia den Boer Grima, regional vice president cancer services. “From diagnosis through to surgery and treatment (chemotherapy, radiation), and beyond, including palliative care.”

They are looking for patients, family members and caregivers that have experienced cancer within the past three years.

Focus groups will be held in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and Windsor-Essex in June. Applications will be accepted until June 3.

It is a volunteer position, but it will include refreshments.
