Medical Health Officer, Dr. David Colby is advising users of the Ridgetown Water System to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consuming water.
Dr. Colby says boiled water should be used for such things as drinking, brushing teeth or washing foods like vegetables.
Health Officials became involved when the water pressure dropped due to a water main break.
Staff delivered notices door-to-door to affected residents and is undertaking water sampling to confirm the safety of the drinking water.
The advisory will remain in place until the Health Unit receives satisfactory results from two consecutive sets of water samples taken 24 hours apart.
