A moving ceremony was held Wednesday evening before the first game of the season for the Tecumseh Warriors for an eleven year old girl who tragically died young.

Aja Chandler’s family say she died accidently as a result of the so called choking game in February.

A moment of silence was called within the first eighteen minutes of the under twelve girls’ soccer game on a sports field at L’Essor Secondary School in Tecumseh.

The number eighteen was Aja’s jersey number.

Players were holding back tears as teammates handed purple roses to family members.

Aja’s father, Joe Chandler said “I couldn't miss it for the world to be here and remember Aja."

Both teams also put only ten players on the field instead of eleven.

The team intends to retire Aja’s jersey number.

The score was 8-0 for the Warriors.
