Royal watchers in Windsor were staying glued to the latest news coming out of London, waiting for news of the birth of the royal baby.

Palace officials announced Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby boy at 4:24 p.m. London time in the Lindo Wing at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital.

The baby weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces, and both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

At Windsor Regional Hospital, the wait is also over for the Headley family, who welcomed baby Noah with open arms. He is their second child.

The family received a text from loved ones earlier Monday, that baby Noah might share the same birthday as Britain's future king.

“It would be a great milestone for not only our family, but to share that on the same day, it's actually quite exciting," says proud father Jabari Headley.

Television sets were programmed throughout the hospital in anticipation.

Louise Ouellette fondly remembers watching both Diana and Kate transform into two fairy tale brides.

“It was almost like a regular person becoming a princess," says Ouellette.

Rose Marie Hogue may be Windsor's ultimate royal watcher.

“I've always loved the British family,” says Hogue. “I've been a big fan of the queen."

From serving Prince Edward and Prince Charles at a restaurant in British Columbia to watching two weddings and a funeral, the computer is plastered with the latest news coming out of London.

“I'm driving my husband crazy because I've been on the computer since early this morning," says Hogue.

As for the royal baby’s name, Hogue believes Alexander, Albert or George could be on the birth certificate.
