A 56-year-old Windsor man was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash on Highway 3.
The crash took place on Thursday at 3:40 p.m. at Highway 3 west of Essex County Road 31 in Kingsville.
A white Chevrolet pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 3 when it crossed the centerline into the westbound lane where it was struck by a white Freightliner tractor trailer unit.
The driver and lone occupant of the Chevrolet, a 56-year-old Windsor man was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver and lone occupant of the Freightliner, a 51-year-old Leamington man was not injured.
The Kingsville Fire Department, Leamington Fire Services and Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and assisted in the extrication of the driver of the Chevrolet.
Highway 3 between Essex County Road 31 and Essex County Road 34 was be closed for several hours.
