Windsor fire crews were called out to a high-rise apartment at 3701 Riverside Dr. E. just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
When crews arrived, they found a fire on the 10th floor. Firefighters also had to contend with removing smoke and checking for water damage in the apartment below.
Investigators determined unattended cooking as the cause.
The resident was handed a $235 ticket for not having a working smoke alarm
