If you had plans to attend the Uncorked Wine and Food Festival in LaSalle next month, you're out of luck.
With less than two weeks until the inaugural event, it has been cancelled.
The event was scheduled for Aug. 5-7, but after an unexpected invoice from the town, organizer Ian France says he had no other choice.
France says it's really disappointing.
The first annual event was scheduled to take place on the waterfront at Gil Maure Park.
France says he made the decision after receiving a $42,000 invoice from the town.
He says he received the invoice last week and sat on it for the weekend, but decided it was best to cancel the event.
France claims the expenses are for things like site preparation and washrooms and he says it doesn't make business sense to continue working on the festival.
If you did purchase a ticket for Uncorked, you can get a refund. France says those who have registered for the charity run will also be refunded.
