Weekend forecast calling for double-digit highs and possible showers

Warmer conditions are expected in the Windsor-Essex region this weekend, with the high forecast in the double digits.

The temperature could hit 12 C Saturday, and 13 C Sunday amid a 30 per cent chance of showers Saturday and rain on Sunday.

Normally, the high this time of year is -1 C.

Cloudy conditions are expected all weekend.

Windsor’s New Year’s Eve forecast is calling for cloudy skies and showers with a high of plus 5 C.

We’ll be ringing in the New Year with rain showers or flurries, and a high of plus 1 C.

Here’s a look at the Windsor-Essex region’s forecast

Saturday: Cloudy. 30 percent chance of showers or drizzle this morning. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High 12.

Saturday night: Cloudy. Rain beginning before morning. Fog patches developing this evening. Wind southwest 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low 6.

Sunday: Rain at times heavy. Amount 20 to 30 mm. Wind northeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light early in the afternoon. Wind becoming southeast 30 gusting to 60 in the afternoon. High 13.

Monday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. High 6.

Tuesday (New Year’s Eve): Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of showers. High plus 5.

Wednesday (New Year’s Day): Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries. High plus 1.

Thursday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 2.
