OTTAWA - Statistics Canada says average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $925 in February, little changed from $922 the previous month.

It says weekly earnings were 2.3 per cent higher on a year-over-year basis.

Year-over-year growth in average weekly earnings exceeded the national average in four of the 10 largest industrial sectors.

The construction industry posted the biggest gain in February, with earnings up 5.5 per cent to $1,225.

At the same time, earnings in educational services declined by 1.7 per cent compared with 12 months earlier to $977.

Year-over-year earnings increased in all provinces, with the largest growth in Manitoba and Nova Scotia.
