After a day of almost spring like weather, a winter storm warning has been issued for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Environment Canada is tracking a low pressure system from Kansas that will bring both rain and snow to the Lower Great Lakes area.
The weather agency has also forecast freezing rain for the region.
A winter storm watch was orinally issued for the region, but was upgraded by Enivronment Canada.
A possible 15 cm to 25 cm of snow could fall by Wednesday night.
In addition, a cold weather alert has been issued for Windsor-Essex.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Allen Heimann says temperatures are forecast to dip to -16 C overnight Wednesday, without the windchill.
Heimann says these extreme temperatures can cause hypothermia and frostbite.
Motorists are encouraged to drive with extra caution, as the storm will bring heavy and blowing snow.
