Windsor West MPP Teresa Piruzza has been named the Minister of Children and Youth Services.

The announcement was made Monday as Kathleen Wynne was sworn in as Ontario’s premier. There are ten newcomers in Wynne's 27-member cabinet, including Guelph's Liz Sandals, who takes on the education portfolio.

Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Dwight Duncan announced his resignation last week. His last day will be Feb. 14. Charles Sousa will become the new finance minister.

This is the first portfolio for Piruzza, who tabled a private members bill to proclaim May 14 as Children and Youth in Care Day.
