Windsor officials are planning to submit a proposal to the Town of Amherstburg to take over police service.
The proposal would see police costing provided to Amherstburg for the provision of police services to the town.
The recommendation came from the Windsor police board meeting last week.
City council discussed the proposal Tuesday afternoon and agreed to put together a proposal for Amherstburg's consideration.
If approved, both forces would be part of a larger regional police service.
Windsor police are expected to compete with an OPP bid. It's unclear how much a move like this would cost.
