Windsor International Film Festival organizers are celebrating record ticket sales at the 2015 festival.

An estimated 17,000 tickets were sold over the course of the six-day festival, a major increase from last year’s sales of 15,000 tickets, which were accumulated over the course of a nine-day festival.

“This year’s festival has been truly exceptional, in every way,” says remarks WIFF Executive Director Vincent Georgie. “The films were exceptional, our volunteers were exceptional, and as always, so were our patrons.”

Georgie says many new patrons came from the region and also outside of it.

“The economic contribution to the downtown area adds to the reputation and status of the festival,” says Georgie.

The 2015 festival, celebrating its eleventh year, showed 90 films over 139 screenings.
