The Windsor police financial crimes unit is warning the public and retailers after the discovery of several counterfeit $100 bills.
According to police, a number of counterfeit $100 bills - the paper bank notes with the metallic stripe - have been discovered in the Windsor area over the past few weeks.
Police say these bills have several reliable security features including raised ink, a ghost image and security thread.
All denominations in this series have the same security features.
Police is asking the public to be vigilant in dealing with counterfeit bills during this holiday season.
