A break and enter in Windsor has residents outraged.
A 59-year-old victim had his prosthetic leg and prescription pills stolen around 9:45 p.m. Sunday.
"It's tragic. It's a horrible thing for someone to have to go through," says Tiffany McCormick, a fellow amputee.
"Legs can run up to $30, $40, $50,000," she says. "The person who stole it could very well be dismantling it, trying to sell the parts for money."
Amputee Amanda Desmarais can't bear the thought.
"I would be heart broken because I use my leg all the time to get from point A to point B," says Desmarais
Windsor police say the leg costs $5,000. They believe the suspect is not known to the victim.
"Please don't hinder someone else's daily activity just to get ahead," says Desmarais.
