Windsor lawyer Greg Monforton has announced his law firm has been retained by the family of victims of the Interstate-75 crash in Detroit.
Aidan Hicks, 7, and Gabrielle Greenwood, 9, died in the crash on Jan. 31. Hannah Greenwood, 10, was also injured, but has been sent home from hospital and is recovering.
Kim Barrett, Aidan’s mother and the girls’ stepmother, was also hurt in the collision and is still in a Detroit hospital.
“Our law firm has been retained to investigate and prosecute civil claims against those responsible for this horrible tragedy,” said Monforton in a news release. “The family is suffering unspeakable pain and has asked us to thank the media and the public for respecting their privacy at this time.”
Monforton and the family are asking for help in putting together what happened the morning of the crash.
“We are vigorously investigating this case and are trying to assemble as much evidence as we can before memories fade and witnesses disappear,” says Monforton.
A news conference is planned for Thursday afternoon.
