A 25-year-old driver from Windsor has been charged with racing after police say she was trying to make it to the cottage to “see the sunset.”
She was stopped by Huron County OPP on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway near St. Joseph on Monday at 8:20 p.m.
The officer utilized radar to measure the speed of the vehicle. Police say she was going 150 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 km/hr zone.
Police say when they pulled her over, she said she was speeding in an attempt to make it to the cottage prior to sunset.
Jourdan Bancroft, 25, from Windsor has been charged with racing a motor vehicle. Her licence has been suspended for seven days and her car will be impounded for the week.
She will have to attend court in Goderich on Sept. 1 to answer to the charge.
In a call to CTV News Thursday, Bancroft says she doesn't like driving in the dark on county roads.
