It’s still unclear when and if faculty at the University of Windsor will head to the picket line.

Windsor University Faculty Association president Anne Forrest says a strategy meeting will take place on Monday between union representatives and the bargaining team.

The goal of this meeting will be to determine the next steps the union should take, which includes a potential strike.

On Thursday, WUFA membership voted 81 per cent in favour of a strike. The vote comes after the university decided to impose a new contract on its 1,000 faculty members, one that had already been rejected by the union.

University president Alan Wildeman says administration offered a fair deal to professors, including a three per cent wage hike over three years, plus salary adjustments to keep professors at median earning rates to other universities in the province.

Talks between the university and the union broke down late last month.
