Windsor police temporarily closed the Ambassador Bridge on Wednesday evening after a call about a suspicious package.
The report came in at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in an area near the Duty Free shop on Patricia Road.
Explosive disposal unit members were called to the scene to X-ray the package and firefighers were also in attendance.
Police closed the bridge for about 20 minutes around 6 p.m. as they continued to investigate.
Shortly afterward, Windsor police Tweeted "Ambassador Bridge will reopen. Package found and no longer suspicious in nature. No threat to public.
Traffic will remain slow in the area."
Huron Church Road north of College Ave was also closed to through traffic during the investigation and people had been asking people to avoid the area.
