Windsor police are investigating a ‘suspicious death’ of a 52-year-old man.

On Tuesday at 10:20 a.m., officers were called to Windsor Regional Hospital for a male patient who was transported there by ambulance with a suspected closed head injury.

Police started an investigation into the incident in an attempt to determine how the injuries were obtained.

The next day at 4:30 p.m., police learned that the 52-year-old victim had died in hospital.

“We want to establish a timeline and try to figure out who was with this individual,” says Sgt. Matt D'Asti.

Investigation has revealed that the victim lives at 920 Ouellette on the 22nd floor.  He was transported by ambulance from his residence after being discovered by a roommate.

Kari Schofield with Windsor -Essex Community Housing Corporation says “this is a sad, distressing day" especially considering all the improvement happening at 920 Oullette recently.

Police say the victim was conscious and spoke with detectives after being taken to hospital.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Friday morning in London in an attempt to determine the cause of death.

Police are treating the death as suspicious and are asking anyone in the community with information to call police or Crime Stoppers.
