A 37 year old Wallaceburg man is facing several charges following a bizarre incident Saturday morning.
Just after 11:30 am, Chatham-Kent police were called to attend a motor vehicle collision on Murray Street.
Police determined that the victim, a 27 year old Chatham man, was travelling on Murray Street when he slowed for a vehicle entering a private drive.
The driver of the vehicle immediately behind him struck the rear of his vehicle and allegedly pressed the accelerator pushing the victim’s vehicle forward.
When the vehicles came to a stop, a man approached the other driver who punched the victim in the face.
As a result of the incident, a 37 year old Wallaceburg man was charged with dangerous driving and assault.
He was released with a future court date.
The victim did not require any medical attention.
