A man is in custody after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle into the Sydenham River in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of a vehicle in the river off Water Street shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday.
A 32-year-old North Bay man was found sitting on the back porch of a residence being tended to by the homeowners.
He was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.
The Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services Dive Team entered the water to make sure no one else was in the vehicle.
Once pulled from the river it was determined that the 1995 green Dodge Caravan was stolen from Riverview Driver in Chatham.
As a result the North Bay man has been arrested.
