Chatham-Kent police say there was no foul play in connection with the death of a 14-year-old boy in the Village of Erieau.
Police were called for reports of a missing teen on Saturday evening and began a search with the help of officers, firefighters and area residents.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, the body of the missing youth was recoverd from the waters of Lake Erie, just off the beach in Erieau.
A post mortem was conducted at the London Health Sciences Centre on Sunday and police say as a result no foul play is suspected at this time.
There are unconfirmed reports the teen was part of a group of 28 kids celebrating graduation, and that the death is the result of a late night swim gone wrong.
An investigation into the death continues and anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 519-436-6600 Ext. #284.
At the request of the family, police have not released the named of the deceased.
