Provincial police say they are investigating after the body of a 46-year-old woman was discovered in Leamington.
Police responded to the area of Talbot Street East around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after the body was discovered.
Police have not said how the woman died.
A 51-year-old man was taken into custody but there's no word on any charges at this time.
Police blocked off two scenes as part of their investigation: A commercial building on Talbot Street East and a residence in the 200 block of Erie Street South.
Resident Darrel Regneir says he doesn't know the people involved, but he admits that he always goes to the diner for lunch.
Another resident, Manuel Pinheiro, says he was surprised to see all of the police activity in what is normally a quiet area.
"When you see things like that, you get scared a little bit, and in front of your door?" says Pinheiro.
But Police say there was never a threat to public safety.
