Lakeshore council is close to finalizing a by-law which will allow All Terrain Vehicles on some municipal roads during the ice fishing season.
Council heard there were no incidents during an ATV pilot project over the last two seasons.
Officials are quick to point out the by-law will allow all-terrains only on defined municipal roads in the area of Stoney Point and lighthouse cove and not on any county roads.
The bylaw would only be in effect from Dec. 1 until April 30 from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Final reading of the bylaw is set for Aug. 8
