Amherstburg police say a 30-year-old Amherstburg man was killed after being hit by a vehicle on County Road 18 Thursday morning.
Police say the Amhertsburg man was travelling westbound on a skateboard around 6:40 a.m., when a 2011 Ford Focus travelling eastbound attempted to pass another vehicle and hit the skateboarder.
The Focus was driven by a 23-year-old man, who was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The 30-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road, also known as Simcoe Street, was closed between Concession 4 South and Meloche Road for a collision investigation. It has been reopened.
