WINDSOR, ONT. -- The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is reporting 37 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths on Monday.
The death toll related to COVID-19 is at 402 people.
Windsor-Essex has had a total of 13,809 confirmed cases of the virus, including 13,114 people who have recovered.
Here’s the breakdown of new cases:
- 10 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases
- 9 cases are community acquired
- 1 case is outbreak related
- 17 cases are still under investigation.
The health unit says 61 local Variant of Concern (VOC) cases have been identified in Windsor-Essex.
There are 12 outbreaks in the region, including six at workplaces, five community outbreaks and one at W.F. Herman Secondary School.
Over the weekend, WECHU reported 59 new virus cases on Saturday and 30 new cases on Sunday. The region remains in the red zone of the province's COVID-19 framework.
Here’s the number of Windsor-Essex County residents vaccinated:
- 72,851 WEC residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine
- 60,768 WEC residents have received only 1 dose of a vaccine
- 12,083 WEC residents have received both doses of a vaccine
- A total of 84,934 doses have been administered to WEC residents
There was no WECHU YouTube livestream on Monday as WECHU officials were at the site of the new vaccine clinic in Amherstburg.
