Windsor fire crews battle early morning blazes

Windsor firefighters were called out to fires at two residences early Wednesday morning.

The first call was to 574 Elliot St. E. for a residential structure fire just after 1 a.m.

Police closed Elliot between Howard Avenue and Louis Avenue.

Later, at around 6 a.m., fire crews were sent to 761 Windsor Ave. for another structure fire.

Police have closed off Howard at Cataraqui Street as crews fight the blaze they believe is in the basement of the building.

No estimates on damages yet.
