The University of Windsor has told the Windsor University Faculty Association that it intends to file a no board report with the Ministry of Labour.

The university says it made the move in an effort to reach an agreement before the contract expires on June 30.

Over the next week, the ministry will issue the no board report to the university, specifying the date in which WUFA will be in a legal position to strike and the university will be in a legal lockout position.

The faculty association says significant progress has been made on non-monetary issues and the sides haven’t yet begun discussing monetary issues.

"The WUFA negotiating team remains committed to continuing negotiations and will strive to negotiate a fair collective agreement," it states on the association website.

Both sides have agreed to mediation.

WUFA represents 850 faculty members, librarians, and sessional instructors.
