Windsor police have arrested two men after a violent home invasion robbery.
Police were called to the 1300 block of Elm Street at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday.
A 34-year-old man was sleeping in his living room when he woke to discover two men in his house.
“They did a number on him,” says Starr Belmore, the victim’s sister.
He received several non-life-threatening injuries, including cuts to his face that required stitches, a cut below his lower lip and a sore shoulder, according to police.
Police say the victim was punched several times, before running to a neighbour's residence to call police.
"He was trying to get out and they kept pulling him back into the home,” says Belmore. “He finally broke free and made it to a neighbour’s home.”
Now his family fears for his safety.
"They came in not only through one door, but through two,” says Belmore. “Like the determination to get in to hurt somebody is unbelievable to me."
The suspects fled the scene before the police got there. Officers say they left with a small amount of property that belonged to the victim.
Police say the victim believes he may have known his attackers and he feels the incident may be in retaliation for some text messages that were sent earlier in the evening.
Two men, ages 21 and 23 have been arrested. Charges have not been laid and the investigation is continuing.
